Safety Award Application
North American Die Casting Association is pleased to annually recognize Corporate Members with operations which place a strong emphasis on their employee's safety and well-being. NADCA’s program is open to all corporate member companies, not just die casting plants.
A copy of the company’s OSHA 300a log is required to be submitted with each application, to be eligible for an award. Companies may be eligible to win in areas of: Perfect Safety Record, Outstanding Safety Record, and in a new category, NADCA Progress Award for Safety Improvements.
Below is the criteria that needs to be met, to qualify for a safety award.
- Perfect = Total number of cases with days away from work (H on OSHA 300a log) + Total number of cases with job transfer or restriction (H on OSHA 300a log) = 0
- Outstanding = NADCA will use the DART (Days Away; Restricted; Transferred) 2, based on 2018’s “All Manufacturing Industries” average of 2 total recordable cases. The DART for nonferrous metal die casting foundries is 2.9.
- Improved = Plant safety DART improved by 25% or more from the prior year. Companies must include their past two year’s OSHA logs to be considered for this award.
Entries are accepted February 1-28, 2020
