PQ2: Machine Power and Die Compatibility

In order to maximize the quality of a part produced on a die casting machine setup, the die caster must understand and optimize the machine and die setup. The goal of PQ2 is to predict how a given die will operate when mounted on a machine with known performance.

Whether planning for a new part or maximizing quality on an existing part, this new volume presents a step-by-step process that will allow even the beginning designer to construct a PQ2 diagram and use it to make decisions regarding gating, shot speeds and shot pressures. The designer will be able to create a die/process design that will match the casting quality requirements.
