Microstructures and Properties of Aluminum Die Casting Alloys

This text describes the impact of various alloying elements on the properties and microstructure of aluminum die casting alloys. The information has been largely determined from the results of an extensive design of experiments. Properties and microstructures for several alloy formulations are presented and correlated to alloy chemistry. Mechanical and physical properties include: tensile strength, yield strength, percent elongation, fatigue strength, impact strength, hardness, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and others.
