SAMPLE NADCA LETTER IN SUPPORT OF THE MURKOWSKI AMENDMENT
June 8, 2010
Dear Senator XXX:
The EPA is planning to regulate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from stationary
sources, such as manufacturing facilities, under the Clean Air Act. This will
impose additional economic burdens and regulatory delays on the domestic die
casting industry, and will impede new business investment and slow efforts to
get the economy moving again. It is essential that the Senate approve S. J. Res.
26, the bipartisan Congressional Review Act Resolution of Disapproval introduced
by Senator Lisa Murkowski to prevent these efforts by EPA to regulate GHG
emissions from stationary sources.
Should the EPA be allowed to proceed, our company and hundreds of plants like
ours, will be forced to adhere to yet another level of new strict regulations
and forced to obtain costly supplementary permits. This would be a devastating
blow to investment and growth in our industry, not to mention the implications
of coupling these regulations with the recession that has hit our country and
especially our state.
As your constituent and employer in your state, I strongly urge you to stop
these EPA regulations. Most American manufacturers will be impacted if Congress
does not prevent EPA from moving forward with its plan to regulate GHGs from
stationary sources. Legislative action such as S. J. Res. 26 is critical to
preserving jobs and promoting economic growth while Congress considers
comprehensive legislation to address climate change.
Again, I urge you to vote in favor of S. J. Res. 26. Thank you for your
attention and support of the die casting industry. I look forward to your
response.
Sincerely,
