Thermally Controlling the Die for High Quality Parts Series
Die casting is driven by the extraction of heat from the liquid metal in the die cavity. Much of successful casting is based on being able to control heat flow in the die casting die. This series is designed to provide an overview of the state of art in controlling the heat flow in die casting dies. Similar to the porosity webinar series this series will cover much of the research work that has been collected over the last 50 year.
Thermal Lines Webinar
"Thermal Lines are normally an afterthought in the die design. However, these lines are critical for reducing defects, extending die life, and improving productivity. This webinar will provide an overview of the literature addressing thermal lines in dies. The following topics are addressed in this webinar: Thermal lines, Water lines, Oil lines, Heat removal rates, Effects of cooling lines and Strategies for improved thermal line use. "
