The Train-the-Trainer program is the first step
in installing the NADCA In-House Operator Training Program. This is a cost
effective method of providing the skills and knowledge needed on the shop floor because it
provides die casting companies with their own in-house trainers. Companies cut down on
costs when their own employees are trained as instructors, since they do not have to work
with an outside consulting firm unfamiliar with the company's mission to establish a
training program. Employees trained as instructors will have a more realistic idea of
company goals, and may be received more favorably by employees over outside instructors.
Individuals who are interested in becoming instructors at there respective
companies must attend NADCA's Train-the-Trainer session.
This is a three day program held at NADCA headquarters covering areas such as implementing
the company's training program, training employees, teaching effectively and receiving
positive feedback. Once a company implements the in-house program, operators who
successfully complete this training and pass the final examination will
receive Level I Certification,
earning the title of Certified Die Casting Technician. The Operator
Training Publications are also available to individuals whose companies may
not have an In-House training program.
The training program is the first step in creating the ideal
work environment. The program helps to achieve critical goals for the company: increased
productivity, reduced scrap, and lower die costs. It also provides a way for employees to
continue their growth and learning through their jobs. this ultimately leads to improved
work performance, more operator/supervisor communication and higher quality turnout.
