Heat Work Safety Resources

Heat work includes any activity that produces an open flame, sparks, or heat. Common examples are welding, cutting, brazing, soldering, grinding, and using heat guns or torch-applied roofing equipment. In certain environments, even actions like using a cell phone near flammable liquids may be classified as hot work. It's important to note that heat work is not the same as working in high-temperature conditions—the defining factor is the presence of an ignition source.
