This two-day program teaches the skills needed to train workers in the die casting industry. As older employees retire how do you ensure new hires have the knowledge needed to work in die casting? When job descriptions change due to technological advancements who provides the training? Where do employees get training to improve or refresh their skills? The NADCA Train the Trainer program provides the first step in installing the NADCA In-House Operator Training Program. Trainers will learn: about the in-house training program; adult learning; how to facilitate and customize a lesson. Attendees will learn the details of the Operator Training Program – Basic and have a chance to practice teaching a lesson.
Additive Manufacturing Workshop
Additive manufacturing is the sexy, new thing in the manufacturing world. Being able to create geometries that were once thought impossible for a single component has spurred the imagination of designers. This technology does not only benefit the end user though. It can also be used to improve other manufacturing processes.
This workshop will take a look at how additive manufacturing can be utilized to improve die casting. Additive manufacturers who are involved in the die casting community will provide presentations on the additive manufacturing process. A presentation will be provided by a die caster who is using additive manufacturing to improve their casting process. Attendees are encourage to join in the discussions that will be lead by Professor Carl Soderhjelm, of Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
