Die Cast Manager/Engineer

A Die Cast Manager/Engineer oversees all manufacturing processes for the Die Cast department including but not limited to Quality of production, maintaining safety regulations, and monitor daily production standards by performing the following duties.

• Observe work and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
• Supervises operation of all equipment to include but not inclusive of the following: Die Cast Machines, Trim Presses, Laundry System, and Melting Furnace.
• Studies production schedules and allocates manpower to ensure that production schedule requirements are fulfilled.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Observes output and other indicators to ensure that processing standards are met within the machining and casting departments.
• Initiates changes in casting cycle times, lubrication of dies, preheating of dies, and/or process parameters to ensure the quality of the castings produced.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to ensure part quality expectations.
• Oversees the needed repair and/or modification of equipment to ensure availability to meet production requirements.
• Recommends measures to improve processing methods, equipment performance and quality of product within the casting departments.
• Evaluates casting processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from subject matter experts.
• Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
• Develops manufacturing casting processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.  
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations as well as current ISO standards.

Education / Experience
• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or seven to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management Systems; Database Software; Human Resource Systems; Inventory software; Manufacturing Software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportion to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
