A Mechanical Engineering Student at Trine University

Aaron T. Engels

Aaron T. Engels is pursuing his mechanical engineering degree at Trine University. He completed an internship at Contech Castings LLC, where he participated in many activities, including assisting in die changes, planning project builds, creating work instructions, performing safety audits, overseeing product relocations and x-raying for porosity. Engels became interested in die casting while working in the material science department at his university, where his studies of materials analysis and failure analysis introduced him to casting defects such as porosity. Through his internship, Engels was able to increase his understanding and appreciation for die casting. Engels said he enjoyed his experience within the die casting industry and hopes to continue his involvement in it.
