Overview of Federal Campaign Contributions
Included in this month's newsletter is a guide intended to encourage citizens to take an active part in
the Federal election process. There are several ways you may support Federal candidates and political

finance law.

Get up to $75,000 for your company’s business lost to China
Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAA) is a program managed by business professionals to provide
financial assistance to import-impacted manufacturers. Firms can benefit from the program through 50/50
cost share, minimizing investments and maximizing results, leveraging resources, and improving cash flow.
Assistance from the program can be applied to improvement projects in manufacturing, engineering,
marketing, information technology, and quality. The TAA can pay half of the cost for these improvements
up to $150,000 with the TAA covering half the cost or $75,000. To qualify for assistance a firm will
typically have to show 2 consecutive quarters of lost revenue and payroll reductions due to lost sales
from a foreign competitor. To read success stories and learn more go to the TAA website. For further information, aide
in determining if your company qualifies, and assistance in writing your application contact NADCA.
Regional Aluminum Product Demand Outlook for the Transportation and Construction Markets
Between North America and Europe, the automotive market has been a tale of two continents in 2010. While
North America has experienced a turnaround in the industry (at least in the first quarter of 2010), Europe
hasn’t shared the same experience. And as said in the “State of the Industry” article in the January 2010
edition of DIE CASTING ENGINEER, the die casting industry directly relies on the automotive industry and
indirectly on the construction industry. So, while the recent surge in automotive production has been kind
to North American die casters, their European colleagues have struggled. And with the construction market
in both continents continuing to have issues, this has not helped their cause either. To read more about
the breakdown of these important end markets on a regional basis, click here to view this month’s issue of Die
Casting Engineer.
